A Hot Stone Massage is given with warm volcanic basalt stones that are known to absorb heat well and then gradually release it. Our massage therapists place these stones on specific pressure points or chakras (energy centres) on your body to clear energy blockages and re-energise your body. First, the hot stones are positioned on either side of your spine and while their warmth radiates deep into your body, your legs and feet are extensively massaged with more hot stones. The massage therapist uses long, slow movements to allow you to relax optimally. Next, your back is massaged with hot stones and then you turn over onto your back. The massage therapist goes on to place hot stones on the chakras of your belly and chest, always with a thin towel covering you to provide a protective layer between your skin and the stones. Your legs and arms are then also massaged with hot stones. This will give you a unique feeling of relaxation because the warmth not only relieves muscle tension and pain but also alleviates stress and boosts your circulation.
