Dehydrated skin? Hyaluronic acid is your skin’s best friend!

Did you know that hyaluronic acid can retain up to one thousand times its own weight in water and then gradually releases it in your skin? That makes it a top skin-hydrating ingredient! Like collagen and elastin, it is naturally produced in the body, but with ageing, its production decreases.

Hyaluronic acid is an antioxidant, meaning it protects your skin against free radicals. These are formed, for instance, as a result of UV exposure, alcohol use, medication, air pollution and stress. These free radicals damage your DNA.

Hyaluronic acid helps retain your skin’s elasticity, slowing down skin ageing in the process. Finally, hyaluronic acid also has antibacterial properties, which is how it stimulates your body’s natural healing process.

So, you could say that hyaluronic acid is an essential ingredient to help slow down skin ageing!

Hyaluronic acid is one of the active ingredients in our boost serum (available to buy at reception for use at home) and in our multi-active serum which we use in our mesotherapy treatment.

Mesotherapy is a facial treatment with radiotherapy, which heats up the deeper skin layers. This promotes the production of collagen and elastin. What’s more, the active ingredients of the serums used can be delivered deeper into the skin, and this, too, boosts elastin and collagen production.

It is one of the skin-enhancing facial treatments we offer at our Beauty Clinic. Click here to read all about it!
