What is microdermabrasion?

The short answer? An intensive peeling that exfoliates the upper skin layers and stimulates cell renewal by boosting collagen and elastin production.

Or to explain it in more detail, during a microdermabrasion treatment, microcrystals are sprayed onto your skin. This loosens dead skin cells and impurities, which are instantly sucked away again and removed, along with the microcrystals. The treatment increases blood flow, so that the active ingredients of the skincare products as well as oxygen are delivered more quickly to the right place, while also promoting the faster removal of waste products. In addition, this treatment stimulates the natural production of collagen and elastin, which firms your skin and makes it more supple again. This means faster skin renewal and as a result, beautiful skin with a more even skin tone and a radiant glow!

Can you combine microdermabrasion with other treatments?

Absolutely! It forms the ideal basis for a combination with our other Beauty Clinic treatments. Because it exfoliates your skin deeply, the active ingredients of the skincare products used afterwards are better absorbed. For instance, we combine it with mesotherapy (in our micromesotherapy treatment). In this treatment, we use radiotherapy to deliver the skincare products into the deeper skin layers, which is totally painless. Radiofrequency heats up the skin from within and the vibration created separates the cells in the dermis (i.e. the inner layer of skin) so that the active ingredients of the products can penetrate deeper into your skin. In doing so, we are boosting the skin renewal effect.

We also combine microdermabrasion with cryotherapy in our microcryotherapy treatment, in which we use cold oxygen. The cold airflow creates the so-called Peltier effect: it accelerates blood flow. And this, too, allows for the active ingredients of the products used to reach their destination more quickly.

Does microdermabrasion give instant, visible results?

Yes. When we do this peeling, we are removing dead surface skin cells, revealing soft skin with even skin tone and texture. But the effects are long-term too because microdermabrasion stimulates collagen and elastin production, which boosts cell renewal.
