She has three tips for us:

  • Preparation: ‘Get your skin summer ready by giving it a good scrub. Not every day, of course, but do repeat it now and then. Make sure to moisturise your skin afterwards. That way, you prevent dry patches because these will always tan that little bit darker than the rest of your skin.’
  • Protection: ‘My advice? Never go out in the sun unprotected, not even for a short while. I always use a high SPF sunscreen and did you know that there are even products especially for your face? The skin on your face is, after all, slightly thinner than the skin on the rest of your body, and some products have anti-ageing ingredients too.’
  • After-sun care: ‘Had a refreshing wash after a day’s sunbathing? Don’t forget to moisturise properly. You can use a cooling after-sun product for this, but a body lotion will do just fine too. The sun dries out your skin, as a result of which it will peel more quickly. If you keep your skin well-moisturised, you will be able to keep your lovely tan for longer!’
