Every season has its charm, but autumn may well be our favourite time of year. The sun is still shining, nature dazzles with an amazing display of colours and it is gradually starting to get cooler. What better time to warm up in the sauna, take part in an Aufguss session and chill out afterwards in the autumn sun on the terrace?

This is also the perfect time to adapt your beauty regime. Our beauty therapist Lily, who has more than 20 years’ beauty experience, gladly shares a few tips!

  • UV protection

‘The sun’s UV rays also damage our skin in the autumn. To prevent premature signs of ageing such as wrinkles and age spots, make sure to keep applying sunscreen. What’s more, its scent is bound to evoke that relaxing holiday feeling.’

  • Moisturise

‘You should always moisturise, full stop. But even more so this season. It may be windy now and then, you may be heading out into nature a bit more or jump on your bike, so your skin has to endure a lot. By moisturising it properly, you will keep it supple and healthy. Added bonus: that gorgeous holiday tan will fade less quickly if you keep your skin well-moisturised.’

  • Cleanse

‘Anybody who suffers from spots and other impurities often notices an improvement in the summer. That’s because the sun dries out your skin. Sadly, there is a negative side to this. To compensate, your skin will produce more sebum and you end up having more of those pesky spots. So, it’s crucial to keep cleansing your skin properly. Wash your face every morning and night with a special cleanser for your skin type, use a gentle peeling now and then, apply a weekly cleansing clay mask and you will soon notice the difference!’
