On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3 July to 28 September, students get 50% off the regular entry price at Thermae Boetfort. This means you only pay 19.25 euros for a sauna visit instead of 38.50. A day at the sauna has many benefits, including for students. The heat of the sauna lowers cortisol levels and stimulates the release of endorphins, making you feel happier and less stressed. It also improves circulation, which is good for both your immune system and your complexion!

The sauna improves your circulation: as your blood vessels dilate, your heart pumps blood faster. This speeds up waste removal and boosts oxygenation in your body. Better circulation means faster recovery after physical activity, among other benefits.

By alternating between a hot sauna and a cold plunge bath, you can train your body and strengthen your immune system, which will reduce your likelihood of getting sick.

More sauna = less stress

Another benefit of alternating between heat and cold is that your sleep quality improves. This effect can be seen after just a few hours at the sauna. Be sure to try our new floating bath in the swimwear section, which mimics the unique experience of floating in the Dead Sea and has the same beneficial effect of several hours of deep sleep.

Another benefit of spending a day at the sauna: you're better able to tolerate stress. Spending time in the sauna reduces cortisol levels, which in turn makes you feel less anxious. It also enhances your overall sense of well-being. Plus, heat prompts your body to produce endorphins, a natural happiness hormone known to boost your mood!

Finally, a day at the sauna is a great way to spend time with a friend. We have a strict no-phone policy at our wellness centre. No e-mails, text messages or social media means no distractions! In the sauna, you have plenty of time to focus entirely on your wellness buddy, making you feel more connected.

Frequently asked questions by other students:

Is swimwear mandatory at Thermae Boetfort?

There are two separate sections: a nude section and a swimwear section. A day pass gives you access to both, but it’s important to respect the dress code in each. Both sections have various saunas, swimming pools, relaxation pools and steam baths.

Is a bathrobe mandatory at Thermae Boetfort?

In the thermal baths and the saunas, you can be naked or in a swimsuit (depending on the section). Everywhere else we ask that you wear a bathrobe (e.g. the restaurant and Beauty Clinic waiting room). You can bring your own bathrobe or rent one at our reception desk. Don’t forget your slippers and towel!

What do I have to bring to the sauna?

You’ll need a bathrobe and slippers, a towel to sit on in the sauna, and an extra towel to dry off with at the end of the day. Depending on the section you plan on visiting, you may also need a swimsuit. We also recommend bringing a brush or a comb with you as well. Our showers have shower gel and shampoo, but if you use specific products, feel free to bring them along. Comfortable underwear and loose-fitting clothes are also recommended after a day at the sauna, as is a hydrating body lotion or night cream.

Bringing a book or a magazine and sunscreen in the summer is also a good idea!

Is there a dress code at Thermae Boetfort’s swimwear section?

Women must wear a swimsuit or a bikini and men must wear short, fitted swim shorts in the swimwear section. If you forgot your swimwear, you can rent a swimsuit, bikini or swim shorts at our reception desk.

Did you know?

Our Aufguss masters host an extensive experience programme every day, which our guests can participate in for free. The experience programme consists of several sauna rituals, such as Aufguss, relaxation and scrub sessions. During an Aufguss session, the Aufguss master pours water infused with essential oils onto the hot stones. This raises the temperature and the humidity of the sauna, making you sweat. The Aufguss master then distributes the steam throughout the room using a fan or a towel for a real adrenaline kick! A scrub session is held in the steam room, where you're given a handful of salt to scrub your skin with while the Aufguss master fans warm air over your body. Finally, we also offer several relaxation sessions. One session uses singing bowls and the other is held in our special salt room.

Our experience programme is available in both the swimwear and nude sections. For special occasions, we organise unique events with extra sessions, like yoga or musical interludes!
